“La Vecchia Cantina” in Semproniano is a restaurant located right in the middle of town between the curve of the piazza and Town Hall.
The cave-like interior has actually been built by carefully renovating an old wine cellar. It still contains rock walls and exposed wood beams creating the warm cozy ambiance of the past. In addition to the main dining room, it possesses other small rooms which provide greater comfort for small groups of guests.
The cuisine, in keeping with the best local traditions, is closely supervised by Cinzia Diacinti the “patronne”, who is assisted in the dining room by Enzo Banci and his son Fabio. After an antipasto of local foods, who can resist trying the unbeatable acquacotta?
The pasta is all homemade: tortelli with truffles, pappardelle and pici with wild boar or mushroom sauces. The gnocchetti with nettles are not to be missed.
